Flannel Quilt Embroidered "1971," Handmade & Handsome! 62" x 70" -Wool & Cotton - $67 - (Richmond, VA)
Beautifully made from soft, suit-weight squares of wool flannels & plaids, pinstripe & serge... and embellished with borders of embroidered feather stitches. The colors are dyed in the wool so the patterns will last forever. The binding and backing are a sturdy, medium weight cotton flannel posy print. All of the work is in excellent condition with no pulled or torn seams or loose stitches. It appears that the squares were machine assembled and the rest of the stitching is by hand. No batting as far as I can tell. Blue threads in the centers of the squares tie the quilt to its backing. The fabric is clean and shows no wear. There is a recent repair to some insect damage in one of the magenta squares. (shown) "Throw" sized: 62" x 70"
