VINTAGE GLASS/METAL WINE DECANTER EUROPEAN FROM MID 1800’S I had this item appraised in Franklin, TN and the appraiser said it was worth $150 to $200. He said that it was from the mid 1800's. I got it at a church yard sale and I do not know any history of this wine decanter. The inscription on the bottom says Cal H 439240 and underneath that is 565 56 2823 which sounds like one's social security number. The measurements are 9.5” tall and measures 13” around at the largest part near the bottom. I have never cleaned it with anything and it looks as previous owners have not either. To clean it decreases the value of the item. As you can see in the last 3 pictures the trim goes half way around the bottom and then stops.
