Edo Per. Japanese War Hat Shield Military Armor Jingasa Koshirae Samurai Helmet - $130 - (Pittsburgh, PA)

This is an original Edo period jingasa or war hat worn by Japanese foot soldiers. At this time the samurai were in power and the people lived in relative peace. This hat was part of the soldier’s uniform during this time. They served the purpose of protection as armor and protection from sun and rain.
