Beautiful hand colored map "La Baja D' Hudson Terra di Labrador e Groenlandia con le Isole Adiacenti...1778" by Antonio Zatta. Classic engraved map, centered on Hudson's Bay, east to Greenland. This was a time of limited knowledge of polar regions, with conjecture and myth commonplace. Still, this is a good representation of what was known at the time. From ‘Atlante Novissimo'. Early outline color with more recent addition in cartouche. Full margins, single fold as issued. Minor light stain in blank area of western most area. Published in Venice.
