Kollsman Instrument 17960010010 Repeater Servo Altimeter - For Display Only - $300 - (San Antonio, TX)

The Kollsman name is closely associated to the invention of various flight instruments & airplane-mounted barometric devices. The small window in the display of altimeters is named the "Kollsman Window," after inventor Paul Kollsman (b. 1900 - d. 1982). Simple altimeters are the least sensitive, using static pressure to display altitude with a needle.Sensitive altimeters use a stack of two or more capsules, and vibration-inhibitors to provide more accurate readings. Servo-Assisted altimeters are the most accurate, using electronic-feedback to minutely change readouts as accurately as 1mb, ±30ft at sea level. The Kollsman window on these units has a 1000's display, and a 100's display, with the needle on a 100-graduation circle. These may have been removed from USAF aircraft, such as B-52 Stratofortress bombers. These instruments are each being sold separately. No international sales. No shipping outside continental United States. For Display Only.
