Rare Portmeirion England The Botanic Garden Yellow Foxglove 8" Casserole Dish - $100 - (Cleveland, OH)

Up for your consideration is a Portmeirion Botanic Garden covered casserole or vegetable dish. The lid has the rare Yellow Foxglove pattern on it with two beautiful green and yellow butterflies. There is a border on the lid consisting of interlocking trios of green leaves. The bottom section is decorated with images of Forget-Me-Not plants (Myosotis Palustris) and some beautiful butterflies. The casserole dish stands about 5 inches tall to the top of the lid and 3 1/2 inches without the lid, measures 8 inches across the top, and weighs 3 pounds, 11 5/8 ounces. The bottom of the casserole dish has an old shield mark: The Botanic Garden circa 1818 - Portmeirion - copyright design - Made in England. There is an impressed mark above that reads OVEN TO TABLE. The casserole dish is in good, vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. The lid has crazing and a scratch to the lower left wing of one of the butterflies. The casserole base has a few discoloration spots (see the last photo for an example) and wear to the unglazed rim of the base. Please see all of the photos! Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
