Antique Poultry Shears w .925 Sterling Silver Handles - 1940s - G.H.French & Co. - $35 - (Cleveland, OH)

Vintage G.H.French Poultry Shears with ornately patterned Sterling Silver .925 handles, engraved with the letter "R." I do not know the name of the pattern for these, but they were probably a wedding gift to my grandparents, so that would place them in the 1940s. Each handle is marked "GHF Sterling Handle" and it appears that the blades are stainless. They are in very good (nice and sharp blades & no damage to handles) condition with one small chip in the teeth of the blade (see photos), additionally, the mechanism that allows the shears to operate has sustained a small amount of rust. These come with the original cloth bag from R.H.Macy & Co., New York, but the bag is in poor shape. The shears measure approximately 10-inches long and weigh almost 12 ounces, so they are pretty solid. These are a beautiful, unique find. Payment must be made within 3 days of auction end.
