1960's Silvertone Tenor Guitar w Original Case - Kay - $500 - (Loris, SC)

This is one of the last guitars made by Kay Musical when the company was based in Chicago. Solid spruce top - mahogany back and sides - it plays great and has that big ringing tone that was found on pretty much all these flat top tenors from the era. -- To my ears it's almost identical in sound to the 1950's Regal / Harmony makes. This one is a little bigger than most of those - maybe adds a touch more volume. -- I've put on new Grover style tuners that work perfectly and got the string height down to 3/32" measured at the 12th fret. The more I play it the more I like it. I've posted a sample on Soundcloud under Claytonaudio.
