Gladsome, giant pink rambling rose Zones 5-9 Offered for sale is one Gladsome rose bush which will be pruned to about 24 inches tall for shipping. Plant was rooted by serpentine layering and is growing on its own roots. Plant will be dug and have its roots wrapped in moist peat for shipping in a Priority Mail box after payment is received. PLANT IS NOT BLOOMING AT THIS TIME. Photo is not of the actual plant offered for sale. Photo shows the bloom form of the parent rose bush. This sale item is a two-year-old plant with green canes that will be pruned for shipping. This five-petal rambler produces clusters of fuchsia flowers that fade to white near the center. Thick yellow stamens turn brown as the flowers age. Lightly scented flowers are borne in large clusters. A single long-stemmed cluster is a bouquet. The plant blooms once, in mid-May in Southern gardens, forming a wall of bright pink. Canes are fast-growing and will reach 15 to 20 feet. Without a trellis or tree to climb, the plant forms a dense shrub. Gladsome is useful for hiding unattractive features such as sheds or walls. The rose Gladsome was first introduced in 1937.
