PRE CIVIL WAR Vintage 1850's Red, Green & Cheddar Daisy Applique Antique Quilt! This EXQUISITE cotton 1850's red, green and cheddar daisy quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with an unusual (one of a kind?) daisy/thistle border. It measures a generous 86" X 100" and is in very good condition, with light age spotting in places and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. The quilting is SUPERB, with quilting around the applique and in close grid and feathered wreath designs quilted throughout at an even 8-9 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is the same early green print used in the interior, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light. The UNUSUAL DESIGN, VIBRANT COLORS, and LUSH QUILTING make this VERY EARLY 19th century COLLECTOR'S QUILT stand out!
