Given its age, this edition of The Beaux Stratagem is in decent shape. There is some browning to the front and end papers, some pencil markings on the inside cover, a few stains on the cover, and one of the back corners is damaged. Upon inspection there is at least one stray pencil mark inside the text and a few other stains on the pages, but nothing that affects readability. The Beaux-Stratagem by George Farquhar was an early eighteenth-century comedy focusing on two friends, Aimwell and Archer, who wanted to renew their dwindling fortunes. Through several escapades, they find romance with the daughter and daughter-in-law of the wealthy Lady Bountiful. The Beaux-Stratagem was first produced in 1707.
