This outstanding work by the famed Russian Avant Garde Artist Jean Pougny (aka Ivan Puni) was executed during the early part of the 20th Century. Ivan Puni moved to Paris and became known there as Jean Pougny. Pougny was one of the founding members of the Russian Avant Garde. The salon was held at his residence during the formative years of this life changing movement. This particular work is superb. The mixed media include - linocut, watercolor, pen and ink, crayon, and pencil. Pougny was constantly deconstructing space and time in his work. And his skill and training were remarkable. Like Malevich and Kandinsky, he stood out among his peers. His works can be found in all the major Museums in Europe and the United States. The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Museum of Modern Art in Paris, The Hermitage in Russia, The Museum of Modern Art in Munich and Berlin - the list is formidable. This work, housed in a very costly archival frame was farbricated by Kris Kierkegaard. His work also can be seen in many of America's major museums and collections. The the LA County, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Santa Barbara Museum of Art, to name a few, and numerous important private collections.
