Rare Tin Imperial Rotograph Rotoscope 3D Folding Stereoscope Stereoviewer NY - $460 - (Knoxville, IA)

Very rare and nice Imperial folding rotograph with the original boxes and cards. Rotograph itself says: "Imperial Rotograph, 101 Fifth Avenue, New York. U.S.A. Patent No. 720849. Portable Folding Stereoscope with Stereo-Slides. Views: Landscapes Children: Animals etc. in Sets. Large Variety Prepared." This would have been made around the turn of the century and from the Patent date around 1903 to narrow it down. It measures 4" x 3" x 1-1/4". It is light blue/green in color, gold and brown. The lenses are in good shape with a little dirt on them. The tin itself does have some rust spots around the outside edging. There are some scratches and signs of wear. The card set includes 13 cards (originally would have been 30) measuring 2-3/4" x 1-1/4" and includes the following scenes from Series VIII, all from Rome: *(Writing is very small and very hard to read, sorry if I mistake a letter/word below)Rom.
