Greetings and welcome to today's auction. Up for bid is for one (1) FLAME Eastern Maple (bn. Acer Rubrum) Luthier Electric Guitar Billet! This is old grown with 1/16" spacing from ring to ring (see end grain photo). It is a dense and hard examine with a bright tap tone. This is ideal for 1/4" or .250" book-match set for a drop top or flat top electric guitar application. Billet is sapwood on the one face and sapwood/heartwood mix on the opposite face. You can slice of or surface this billet down to have clear sapwood on both faces that will net around 1.00" thickness prior to book-matching. Dimensions (approximately): 20-3/16" long 6-7/8" wide 1.330" thick Specifications: Slab sawn cut. Rough surfaced planed 2 face/2 sides edge milled rough cut. Will require to be jointed planed with additional surfacing required prior to book-matching. Air dried/kiln dried seasoned approx. 9-10 percent moisture content). Wood will need to be acclimated to your shops environmental conditions prior to fabrication so it is at workable moisture content. Ends sealed with Anchorseal.
