Big (6.75") Sahara Neolithic Chert Gouge, Celt, Prehistoric African Artifact - $45 - (La Junta, CO)

BIG NEOLITHIC CHERT GOUGE, CELT. This prehistoric artifact is 6.75" long, 2.5" wide, not quite 1" thick, and weighs 11.5 ounces. It is made of a cream colored chert and was possibly a celt that was reconfigured into a gouge sometime in the ancient past. It has some minor ancient damage and is otherwise in very good condition with a deep patina and a touch of color. The letters "C C" are written on one face with pencil. This is a fine artifact, a tool that was used in everyday life thousands of years ago. It is from the Sahara Desert of North Africa and is from the Neolithic Era (New Stone Age), which dates back 3,500 to 6,000 years ago or more. This is a great prehistoric collectible artifact.
