For sale is an 1865 Liberty Gold Quarter Eagle Graded AU Details by NGC. A rare Civil War issue limited to 25 proofs and 1,520 business strikes, PCGS estimates that only 35 to 40 survivor. The 1865 Liberty Quarter Eagle is the fourth scarcest of all Liberty gold Quarter Eagles. The current example was given the repair grade because of some smoothing on Liberty's cheek and on the reverse beneath the wings. Even with the impairment, this coin still represents a vary rare coin in a pleasant condition.
