EARLY ROYAL NIPPON NISHIKI HP ENCRUSTED GOLD BEADED 12" TANKARD PITCHER MARK 91 - $400 - (London, ON)

Stunning hand painted large tankard measuring 7 3/4" from spout to handle and standing 12 1/2" high on a footed six sided base measuring 6 1/4" by 4 3/4". Exquisitely hand painted spray of anemones outlined in gold with the tall leaves lavishly trimmed with encrusted gold and beading. I believe this tankard is an example of the soft paste style of Nippon. This tankard pitcher is in superb condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Marked with the backstamp Mark 91 in The Collector's Encyclopedia of Nippon Porcelain by Joan F. Van Patten; Hand Painted Royal Nippon Nishiki, c, 1906.
