This is an email I received from someone who knew the painter personally. MamaJ Hello, not a question but thought you should know that Mrs. Tatum's lifespan was 1902-1983. She was a friend of my family and began painting sometime in the 1950's and lived in the Holmesville community, Pike Co., MS. Some people have mistaken her as African-American because of her typical subject matter which included many cabins in cotton fields which was reminiscent of her childhood in South Louisiana. - meandockman
