17 INCH SCHOENHUT WOODEN DOLL This wooden doll has an original label on doll’s back that shows patent date of 1911 and a second original label of a C in a circle on the back of the neck. The Schoenhut Company produced these dolls between 1911 and the 1920’s. I don’t know exact style number of the doll. It has a sweet face. This doll has the original medium brown color mohair wig which is glued to the doll’s head. Eyes are painted and have a blue green tint to them. Doll is in excellent condition for age and there are no cracks or major rubbed places. It may have some paint touch up –see back of arm area—small paint run. There are 2 holes in base of each foot for a stand (not included). Doll was dressed in red, blue and green tartan plaid cotton overalls with a long sleeve white knit high neck back Velcro closed shirt. There is a pair of white cotton socks and black patent shoes and a white cotton hat that came with the doll when I obtained it. None are original to the doll that I can tell. The doll does have an original metal Schoenhut pin attached to front of overalls. (see pictures) This doll would make an excellent addition to your doll collection. HAPPY BIDDING!!
