HTF 15/16" Japanese 6 Vane, 3 Color Cross-thru Cat's Eye Marble - $60 - (Ingram, TX)
Cat eye, cat's-eye, cateye variations so site can be found. This is wet mint with only one white vane having a bit of orange hybridization. It is hard to find in this condition and size. I determined value from "Marbles: The Guide to Cat's-Eyes Marbles" by Peterson and Castle, 1998. This is the 11th rarest cat according to Marlow Peterson in a letter to David Chamberlain in December 1998. On pg 12, the 5/8" 6 vane, 3 color cross-thru was listed at $8-$15. Using $15 as a basis given the condition, pg 27 says to multiply the value of the 5/8" marble by 10 for cats near 1" size. I will use 8X due to a smaller size ='s $15X8=$120. Then I will subtract 20% for hybridization = $120-$24=$96. As a discount, I will sell it for $60. This will be shipped via first class mail in a padded 5"X7" envelope with tracking, but no insurance unless added by the buyer. As always, satisfaction is guaranteed.
