DESCRIPTION: Scans show them all......large lot of 12 RARE original COLOR antique Stereo Photograph cards, made to be used in a Victorian period stereoptican. They include a variety of flowers, bushes, and shrubs, all pictured and featured in a stereo card. On the back of each is a description of the specific plant and all the specifications. KIND OF LIKE AN EARLY VERSION OF A MODERN CATALOG. Has the supplier's name "Wm. C. Moore & Co., Nursurymen, Newark, New York".I have never seen anything like these and they are very rare. Especially to have so many of them together from the same company. A REALLY GREAT ADVERTISING ITEM.I believe these are from about 1890, and used the popular Victorian stereopticon as a way of spreading their ads and generating interest in their products. All cards have nice appearance and patina. COLOR CARDS ARE VERY RARE THEMSELVES, WHICH MAKES THESE ANOTHER PLUS!!!Very clear photos, and great variety !!These stereos were made to use with a stereoptican device that gave the illusion of a 3-D effect.
