Vintage G.P. Pilling & Son Eye Case - 1918 Ophthalmic Surgical Kit - 1918 - Maho - $2,250 - (Texas City, TX)

This beautiful set of Ophthalmic instruments was produced by the G. P. Pilling & Son Company in 1918. I believe it was made for the U.S. Army during World War I. I don't think it was ever used and may have been sold in later years as surplus. It looks like it hasn't been used. The set comes in a mahogany case which is in excellent condition (only a few small dings). The case has a full complement of metal surgical instruments and seems complete as far as I can tell. The bottom tray alone has 27 instruments in a metal rack plus a magnifying glass, sutures, and a type of snare to the left of the metal rack. The upper portion has 14 more instruments - forceps, holders, etc. This is an amazing find - complete and in very good shape. Don't miss your chance to own this incredible set!
