MUSEUM QUALITY PRE CIVIL WAR Vintage Virginia Reel Antique Quilt ~CHINTZ BORDER! This OUTSTANDING cotton Virginia reel quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with a "brilliant blue" chintz border and fabrics that date back to the 1830-1860 era. It measures a generous 94" X 94" and is in excellent condition, with some light age spotting on the back and no wear. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall and is remarkably clean. The quilting is SUPERB, with close straight line, basket weave, and ripple designs quilted throughout at an even 11-12 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is solid green, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
