Beautiful Antique Brass Watermans Sewing Bird Clamp Cushion Patented 1853 - $175 - (Springtown, TX)

This handsome antique sewing bird is ornately decorated from top to bottom, above as well as underneath. It has a rich natural patina and it remains in as found condition, carefully and lovingly stored as a family keepsake for many years. There's a worn spot on the old original pincushion top and if there was a pincushion on top of the bird it's been gone for many years. The bird itself looks like it is pot metal with a brass wash while the clamp and key are probably solid brass. The bird still opens his beak and all is original with no repairs.
