Vintage Swagarty Wander-a-lay-lee -- Ukulele Unique Music History Collectable - $299 - (Old Fort, NC)
The Wander-a-lay-lee was designed to be a wall hanger that you can play. Original tuners are intact. Swagarty made instruments such as the Surf-a-lay-lee, Kook-A-Lele, Surf-a-lay-lee the Kook-A-Lele, and Little Guitar in the 1960s. In their warehouse in California by the beach they designed these to be playable wall hanging ukuleles. They were advertised to surfers to stick the headstock into the sand while surfing. Because of age and because the tuners are plastic I have not kept them tuned up to concert standard soprano ukulele pitch. The rope seems to be original. This ukulele is in great shape with a little of the headstock being chipped off (not very noticeable from if it is hanging). You may want to do a light touch up paint job or stain marker to make it hardly noticeable at all or even look normal or you could enjoy the patina. Everything appears to be original. Fast and Free Shipping! Hang it on your wall in less a week!
