Payment | Shipping LARGE BERLIN NEEDLEPOINT of HENRY CLAY Done 1847 AAFA This is a very large 27" x 34" historical needlepoint signed and dated by ELIZABETH KIP 1847. It is a Berlin needlepoint of the statesman HENRY CLAY. It is based after a famous painting by John Neagle 1843 that is currently hanging in the House of representatives wing of the US capital building. There is also a copy of that painting in Clay's homestead in Lexington KY. There is also a picture of the needlework in "THREADS of HISTORY" by Herbert R. Collins illustration 158, pg. 110.The needlework is in excellent condition. All of the colors are still fairly bright yet have a great muted aged look. It is framed in a cheaply made frame.
