Vintage Tapesty Bell Pull/Birds Cherries Flowers/Brass Ends/Signed Hand Worked - $99 - (Two Harbors, MN)
Beautiful hand worked tapestry bell pull. Multi-colored bell pull with taupe background and burgundy edge surrounding two little birds -- probably a Robin and a Blue Bird -- among beautiful cherries, violets, roses, daisies and a butterfly. Hand worked tapestry is signed "E.J." by the artist at bottom of pull just above the Robin's head. Vintage if not antique hand stitching can be seen on back where top and bottom ends are attached to the original brass hardware. I believe the tapestry yarn is wool but do not know for certain. Brass ends are heavy and quite lovely. Bell Pull measures approximately 6 1/4" wide and 45 1/2" long including hardware. It is backed with satin type fabric that shows stains and watermarks from many years ago. None of those areas of discoloration show through to front of tapestry. Full tapestry currently hangs slightly to the left, but should straighten once stretched with the end weight attached. Please see photographs for best description of this lovely tapestry bell pull.
