Antique French Sterling Silver/Cut Glass Salt Bowl/Spoon , French Empire, c 1820 - $150 - (Meredosia, IL)

ITEM: Circa 1820 French Empire Style, Sterling Silver and Cut Glass Salt Bowl with original cut glass insert. Makers mark of T/CD, weighs 66 grams, measures 4" tall, by 3 1/2 diameter. The Salt Well is 1 5/8" deep and fits very snugly in the base. I will research the makers marks soon and update accordingly. It has various hallmarks indicating a French origin and dating it to 1820. I have a lovely antique silver spoon that closely matches the salt cellar, included. CONDITION: The bottom portion of the neck of the glass salt bowl has broken off, but it sets firmly in its base and extends well past the opening for the shaft. It will not fall out if turned upside down. The insides and underneath are tarnished heavily. The spoon is in great shape and has all visible hallmarks on the bowl of the spoon.
