Walker Turner 6 Inch Jointer - $675 - (Jonesboro, GA)
Simply solid. This is what cast iron used to be. Completely stripped down, cleaned, repaired, and painted. New sealed cutter head bearings and freshly sharpened blades (wrench included.) The Craftsman motor on the lower shelf is a 1 HP that has been disassembled, cleaned, and new bearings have been installed. I believe it's off a table saw and it's a strong quiet runner, Dual shaft, dual voltage, currently wired for 110. The original cast iron legs are topped by a new walnut top that has a 4 inch dust collection port incorporated (just connect some dryer vent if you're not using dust collection), and a new walnut shelf, both finished in tung oil. Appropriate for a woodworking machine, don't you think? The blade guard is the same but since I made it last, it's still getting oil. Did I forget anything? Oh yeah, did I mention this thing is heavy, like a rock?
