1861 Map of US and most of North America, Illustrated London News - $220 - (Red Lodge, MT)

"Map of the United States of North America, Upper & Lower Canada Nova Scotia, & British Columbia, Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, St Domingo and the Bahama Islands by T. Euling. Supplement to the Illustrated London News, June 1, 1861." The map is about 26 by 36 inches and folds to about 10 by 15 inches. Map in excellent condition mounted on heavy backing which makes the map very stable. An interesting map at the beginning of the Civil War. The West is just developing with many territories not yet established. Many natural features illustrated, some different than today, and early towns shown. The Mid West laid out in many towns, railroads and roads. Only a few towns in southern Florida. Map includes four proposed routes for railroads across the west. Many Indian tribe areas are included. Map has a few wrinkles from the backing and the four corner folds no not lay flat because of the backing that allows the map to be folded back up. The back has smudges, foxing and appears dirty in many spots. The front is in excellent shape. May will be shipped folded to the 10 by 15 inch size. Seller will pay for packaging, insurance, and tracking. Questions welcome.
