French Gold Plated Sterling Silver Tray With Call Bell - 1896 - One of a Kind - $400 - (Bark River, MI)
One of a kind item... Base metal of tray is .925+ Sterling Silver (acid tested)... Gold plating tests as 14K (acid tested)... Border appears to have a pair of ducks? encircling around the circumference of the tray... A family crest is etched in the center... The bottom of the tray has a like new heavy coating of 14K gold which makes the "marks" difficult to read (see pics)... Tray measures 5-1/4" by 8" and weighs 210 grams... Bell is very ornate and I believe made of brass... It has the same family crest as the tray... Bell is 5-1/8" tall and has a diameter of 2-3/4"... Ouizille Lemcine were Europe's premier jewelers at the turn of the century... They were the exclusive makers of medals and insignias up until WW1 (including the "French Legion of Honor")... I offer a 14 day return policy so you'll be able to check this out... I also have a matching "letter tray" listed.... The two other trays have been sold (the letter tray & the brush tray)....
