For sale is an 1870 Shield Nickel Graded PR66+ by PCGS. This Plus-designated Premium Gem is the sole finest non-Cameo proof 1870 Shield nickel. This issue is elusive so well-preserved, with or without a Cameo designation. The present coin displays a full strike with modest contrast on the obverse. A crescent of pastel rainbow colors graces the upper obverse border, but the remainder of each side is light golden.
