Attached is a “screen capture” from Upper Deck’s website offering far less desirable/historic Tiger Woods Memorabilia. Tiger had been, for a full decade, not only the greatest golfer on the planet but, according to most pundits, the greatest that had ever played. Less than a year after declaring himself a professional at age twenty, Woods was ranked number one in the world in 1997, the fastest ascent to the sport's pinnacle in history. In 2000, he'd string together a chain of six consecutive tournament victories, tying or breaking nine US Open tournament records in what Sports Illustrated called, "the greatest performance in golf history." He'd earn status as the youngest owner of golf's career Grand Slam by the end of the year, becoming in early 2001 only the second man since Bobby Jones to hold all four Major titles at a single time. Only Babe Ruth had ever done more to raise the profile of his sport. In 2010, under the white-hot spotlight of Augusta and the tabloid culture, Woods recorded a stellar eleven-under, a score good enough to win many Masters, though not this one. The great Phil Mickelson would once again claim the Green Jacket, his third and last to date, with a remarkable sixteen-under 272, a score tied for fifth-best in the tournament's history. Woods would have to settle for a two-way tie for fourth. Presented is the shirt worn by Tiger Woods during his final round at the 2010 Masters, exhibiting sweaty wear at the hallowed Georgia grounds.
