Rookwood Pottery Saint Louis Bi-Centennial 1764-1964 Plate from Stix Baer Fuller - $130 - (Hillsboro, IL)

You are bidding on an orange St. Louis Bi-Centennial pottery plate marked "St. Louis Bi-Centennial 1764-1964" and depicting a steamboat in relief. The plate was manufactured by the well-known and now defunct Rookwood Art Pottery company. The plate measures 7 1/2" across front of plate & 1 1/4" deep and is marked and inscribed on the underside as follows: "Made Exclusively For Stix Baer and Fuller". It also has the maker's mark of "Rookwood Pottery Starksville, MS" as well as the traditional Rookwood Roman numeral dating system indicating "LXIV" - that it was crafted in 1964. As you can see from the photos, there are no visible chips, cracks, or even crazing on this wonderful item. The original felt pads are still affixed to the bottom of the plate. We believe this to be a great addition to any Rookwood Pottery collector or even a St. Louis native or ex-patriot who would appreciate this memento of that city's bi-centennial or the department store of Stix Baer and Fuller, which closed its doors over 30 years ago. Payment is expected within 3 days of the close of the auction. Handling time is no more than 2 business days, unless noted. We try our best to describe in detail the items we list, including all perceived flaws, both in writing and in pictures. In the unlikely event you are dissatisfied with a transaction, please do us the courtesy of trying to work with us to resolve the issue before escalating.
