French 19th Century Grande Sonnerie Carriage Clock, in Great, Fully Working Condition French Grande and Petite Sonnerie quarter repeater carriage clocks are highly valued by collectors. This clock is true Grande Sonnerie, striking hours and quarters on double-gong, on demand and in passing, both. It also has a lever on the bottom that controls its striking in passing, from Grande Sonnerie to Silent, to Petite Sonnerie. The clock strikes perfectly in all modes and runs well. Beautiful silvered balanced lever escapement shows some tarnish, as expected, but it is fairly clean and so is the movement. Brass case shows some minor tarnish, but is still fairly bright. There is a tiny corner chip to one side glass, almost invisible, see the last photo. Dial has a very faint hairline crack between numeral 1 and upper right corner and a tiny scratch in the middle, all also hard to see. I will include a key. Pictures speak for themselves, but do let me know if you have any additional questions. The clock measures 7.25" (18.5 cm) high with its handle extended.
