Weller Glendale 13" Vase with a Tern Protecting Her Nest - $925 - (Prescott, AZ)
This beautiful Weller Glendale vase stands a mighty 13" high by 6.25" in diameter, the largest vase in the Glendale line. It presents in a marshy landscape, hand decorated all around, from the top to the bottom with foliage and cattails, and a single Tern, standing in the marsh, while protecting her nest of five eggs. The natural earthtone colors on this vase are spectacular, rich deep colors with great definition. The form is a classical shape, bulbous from the base to the top, and wrapped with a banded collar, a nice finishing touch. This large vase is marked in black in? with the numbers '124' on the base, and guaranteed to be vintage Weller from the 1920s. It is in excellent condition.
