Huge 16-1/2" Tall Vintage German Made Lidded Beer Mug Stein - $220 - (New York, NY)
Huge vintage German-made lidded beer mug (stein). Measures about 16-1/2" tall from the base to the tip of the lid. Its circumference at the base (the widest point) is about 18". And it weights a whopping 6 lbs 4 oz. Was purchased in Germany by a friend about 25 years ago. Base has a West Germany & Germany stamps. Its design is very intricate as can be seen in the pictures. Not sure of what material the mug itself is made of, however. I think it could be ceramic but again i'm not sure. This mug still remains in good condition. It wasn't used for drinking. It served a decorative purpose at the house (stood on the shelf for about 20 years). I didn't see any damage or serious imperfections. Though it does have some minor cosmetic flaws such a some wear/scuffs on the handle, at the base & on the lid. There may be other minor flaws present as well that I just haven't noticed. But it does require some further cleaning. I dusted it off a little before the listing but it can definitely use more. Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
