This is a leather bound signed collector's edition of Gordon Cooper's best-selling autobiography - "Leap Of Faith", a fascinating memoir of one of the original NASA Mercury seven astronauts. Gordon Cooper piloted the longest and final Mercury mission in 1963. During this flight, he was the first American to sleep in space, and the last one to be launched alone to conduct an entirely solo orbital mission. Subsequently, he flew again as the command pilot of the Gemini 5 mission. Unfortunately, Gordon Cooper passed away in 2004. The book is in great unread condition, with just a couple of small gold gilding imperfections (see images). It is free of bookplates or any other signs of previous ownership. Signed by the author on the limitation page, it also includes the signed and dated certificate of authenticity and the publisher's note card.
