These reed harnesses are used to separate yarns and to also beat up the yarns in the weaving process. They are parts of the weaving loom which pulls up and down the warp and left weave, pass through the threads at the base of the canvas. The longest is 42", the shortest is 30". They are 4 to 7" wide. The 3rd one from the front has wood reeds while the rest use metal. All the frames are wood. They came to Minnesota about 60 years ago from Washington State. It's likely they came from Navaho Indian People's but I cannot verify that.
