Small Antique 18thc Wooden English Doll - $2,500 - (Diamondville, WY)
From my collection, this is a wonderful 18thc English wooden doll. She has handpainted features with nice detailing in the curls on either side of her face. Her cap and bodice fit perfectly and have always been hers, but her skirt is lost. Someone with dressmaking talent can rescue her easily, but that is sure nothing I was comfortable doing. She has a wooden head and partial torso, arms and legs. It feels like wadded cloth at her waist and hips. Her size is unusual, standing only 8" tall, a perfect doll's doll, or a good size for a dolls house. I bought her at auction and caught auction fever that day. She came in a lovely printed antique glove box, which I will include. My asking price is what I paid, which, I know, was too much. I will consider an offer. If you like older dolls, please check my store for a few more, as I am happy to combine lots to save on postage.
