Rare Antique Heavily Carved Wooden Anglo-Indian Davenport Desk Teak/Rosewood - $2,500 - (Raleigh, NC)

A Rare, Heavily Carved, Antique Teak, Rosewood and Mahogany Davenport Desk with a lift top and drawers on the side. A great showpiece from the orient for any room. The desk is in good condition for its age of over 130 years old, displaying birds, dogs, and lions. The top back of the desk is delicate because of fine carvings. The desk has had some re gluing on the carving, not noticeable, and the bottom of the legs have steel supports embedded. This was a needed restoration job, because of the delicacy of the carving on the legs, from the front of the desk, to the back of the desk. You would have to turn the desk completely over to see the steel. The legs are on casters. This desk would be a beautiful addition in a library or sun-room.
