Vintage pair of Fischel Bentwood chairs circa 1920s. Simple wooden pair of cafe / bistro chairs with embossed pattern seats. Made in Czechoslovak state. The Fischel factory employed 100 workers and produced around 100 units per day during the 1920s. History: The Fischel Company was founded by David Gabriel Fischel one month after the "patent" granted to Thonet (inventor of bentwood furniture) expired. Fischel, a vegetable oil salesman from Praque, opened his business on June 10, 1871 and placed it in the hands of his eldest son Alexander Fischel who had worked for Thonet for many years at their Koritschan factory. Condition: wear and tear that goes with being 100 years old. Finish is worn and chairs are in original condition - not refinished. Nicks and scratches. Vintage character and patina! Not wobbly.
