Large antique Burmese highly decorated repousse and chased silver bowl - $2,850 - (O'fallon, MO)

This is a large extraordinary antique late nineteenth/early 20th century Burmese repousse and chased bowl. It is decorated with 16 different figures (in eight paired groups) in high relief and is quite detailed. The bowl is also enhanced with pierced work that accentuates the foliate decoration. It is made of what appears to be a high grade silver alloy but the silver purity is unknown and has not been tested. There are no makers marks that I can find anywhere on the bowl. This item is in excellent condition and has the level of patina one would expect for an item of this age. The general dimensions are 10 inches diameter at the top and the figures in high relief would add about another inch to the total diameter. The diameter at the base is 5.5 inches and it is 7.5 inches tall. The bowl weighs about 1334 grams. Be sure to check out the other vintage and antique items I have for sale.
