ANTIQUE PAIR OF 17th CENTURY FLEMISH BRUSSELS TAPESTRY PILLOWS Description For your consideration is a pair of mid17th century polychrome silk and wool Brussels tapestry pillows. These tapestry pillows have a square shape of 17” with 6-7 chain lines per centimeter. In our opinion, these pillows were made from fragments of a larger tapestry featuring grotesque scenes symbolizing a particular season or a month. The first pillow depicts a hunter and the second pillow a woman behind a wheat sheath looking at a satyr. Both pillow covers have similar borders and are backed by 19th century teal blue silk velvet with zippers. Inside both covers is a down pillow. Except for some minor thinning of silk in a few areas, these tapestry pillow s are in overall very good condition. (Please see pictures) We describe our items to the best of our abilities.
