Antique Gong Bell, American, circa 1900 Bell Pull Toy Original Repo or not? - $75 - (Beech Bluff, TN)
9" (23 cm.) The cast iron toy with heart-shaped spoke wheels supports a red dog house with shingled yellow roof and cast iron dog attached on a chain, and a green ground cover with cast iron cat; a bell is hidden below the base. When pulled along, the bell rings, and the dog moves in and out of his doghouse as though challenging the cat. Condition: generally excellent, original painted finish albeit worn, mechanism functions well. Comments: Gong Bell, American, circa 1900. Value Points: rare and amusing American toy with original finish. The paint has worn off over time and the bell at the bottom is missing but this is a solid cast iron toy with over 100 years of age.
