Peleg Macomber Sword Hinged Hand Guard Blade Marked Engraved Sharkskin HandleThis is a little different than the type of items I usually sell so I don't know much about these. The blade is marked "Peleg Macomber Providence R.I." The blade has an ornate design engraved into it and there is writing on both sides. Unfortunately I cannot make out what it says, it's in a flowing type of script and I can't really tell what it says. The blade does have some small dings on the edge and some corrosion in spots....see photos. Also, one of the hand guards is hinged and can move back and forth some. I don't know if the scabbard is original, since it's approx 31" and the blade itself is only 28". Overall the sword is 34 1/2" long,
