Large Dehua Porcelain Guanyin Figure Mark and Seal - $10,000 - (Olympia, WA)

This is a beautiful great work of art. The figure bears the Dehua double-gourd-shaped mark and seal mark of He Chaozong yin of the Qing Dynasty. The porcelain is built thick with many of the indications of the original hand. Superficially the figure shows that a gentle and careful cleaning is in order. Enjoyed on display for years, a fear of the delicate features has allowed the figure to become dirty. As is through time, no damage or signs of repairs are discernible. Upon close inspection there are slight original furnace defects fired into the porcelain as might be expected, otherwise in excellent shape. The figure measures 10" side to side x 9.5" deep x 27" high and weighs 7 kg.
