Skull Ranger Beads. Pace counter beads. - $6 - (Alexander, NY)
You are looking at a set of Ranger Beads pace counter beads. Used for land navigation in the armed forces and specialized law enforcement agencies. To use the beads first slide all beads to their top most position on the paracord then mark off 100 meters on the ground and walk that distance at a normal pace counting each time your left foot strikes the ground. Do this a couple of times and average the count. Most 70-72" tall males will average 60 paces. Now using a compass to keep baring count off paces between a starting location and a target/destination location. Each time 100 meters is traveled lower one of the 9 lower beads to the bottom. After the 9th bead is lowered the tenth bead will be one from the top set (4) this will indicate 1000 meters (1km) traveled. Reset the bottom 9 beads to the top and start on the second 1000 meters.
