Vintage Japanese Sword in Shirasaya, Wakizashi - $1,250 - (Cedar Rapids, IA)
Vintage Japanese Samurai Sword, Wakizashi, in a shirasaya mount. This is an Edo blade from the late 1600's, signed Inshu ju Kagemitsu on the nakago. The blade is shinogi-zukuri shape. The blade is in old full polish, with no rust or stains. There are no chips in the edge and it is sharp. The temper line is a wavy gunome with a ko-nie active temper pattern and deep temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada with no forging flaws. There are no fatal flaws in the blade. Overall a decent early blade. The shirasaya nice condition, but does have a couple small cracks in the handle portion. The habaki is copper with a dragon engraving. The blade overall measures 26 inches with an 20.25 inch cutting edge. Price includes shipping and insurance. I ship only to US addresses. PayPal accepted for payment. Thanks for looking.
