YAGGY'S GEOGRAPHICAL STUDY 1887 POLITICAL GEOLOGICAL ASTRONOMICAL MAP SET RARE This is a rare large boxed Atlas set of maps and charts of the world published by Levi Walter Yaggy in 1887. It was published by the Western Publishing House in Chicago Il. It is a large 25 by 38 by 2 inches. 158x96 cm. There are 19 chromolithographic plates and maps including tissue underlays. At the rear is a plaster relief map that is hand painted. The condition is amazing for a so called teaching aid. The only damage we can see is some paper loss on the large plate showing the races of man and that does not go into the image. I would estimate that some of these large plates had used up to 20 stones to print all the colors. World Cat only shows two library's with copies of this atlas. One sold in New York in 2001 for $7450.00 and one or two others have shown up since. So this is a very rare survivor and seems to be in better shape than most. Will ship Fedex. We take Pay Pal.
